0 sm (2)Samantha Long grew up in South Carolina, coloring, drawing, painting and creating as long as she can remember. She attended the College of Charleston and transferred to Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, where she graduated with a BFA in painting. Sam made props in the theatrical properties department for The Juilliard School and The New York Public Theatre; painted murals and repaired displays for the Guinness World Records Museum in the Empire State Building and Niagara Falls, Canada; and was a scenic artist for Spoleto USA and Maine State Music Theatre. In 1994, she started her art business, Bluzap and Shatki Productions. Sam traveled and participated in art shows for about ten years exhibiting and selling her polymer clay creations. Now she stays close to home, displaying her artwork in local stores: Indigo, Sandpiper Gallery, Lulu Burgess, Macdonald Marketplace and The South Carolina Artisans Center. She lives on Saint Helena Island watching the sunset every night, practicing bhakti yoga, playing in the garden and creating multimedia art. There is always a new project for Sam to eager wrap her imagination around.
